    Low Coolant Temp

    Hey Gang.
    I've got a suspected problem.
    I changed the heater hose and believe I bled the system of air properly but now my coolant temp is not getting above 57c odd. I squeezed all the hoses and can see that they do send coolant back to the overflow BUT I can't tell if it's moving forward or backwards when I squeeze it. When running I am getting flow back into the overflow.
    I just have this horrible feeling it's not flowing properly as the temp is not moving up to to 80s as it should once engine is warmed up.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    I know nothing about cooling systems but Top radiator hose is hot & bottom is cold. Opening the upper bleed valve and revving does produce pressure (coolant spouts) out the bleed.
    I fear I have an airlock somewhere as temp just not getting up & don't want to go stretch her legs too much to test he for fear of hurting her. May have to drop the lot and start again so that I can fill her per manual.

    Did you change the hose with the thermostat on it ? From memory the thermostat can only flow 1 way.

    I'd expected the brains trust here to kick in. I am no expert on cooling systems. Could it be the thermostat stuck in the closed position?
    Hopefully some one here will yay or nay that idea.

    thermostat more likely partially stuck open, make sure the gauge isn't reading around the half way mark (it should'nt until 70 degrees)

    How are you measuring the temperature?

    If on a Nanocom then it is subject to the temperature sensor being accurate.

    I had a dirty contact problem with mine (2002 TD5 D2) which was solved with a spray of LPG and a few connects/disconnects.

    If with an independent gauge then you have ze problem.
