    Heater problem Disco2 TD5

My disco2 td5 auto seems to have the heater on all the time. Took it to get the aircon re-gassed and told that is not the problem. The air vents are warmer on the drivers side and I have a feeling the heater vent is stuck open. I am thinking of bypassing the heater and loop the heater hoses for the moment as we are about to go on a trip and no time left.

    Can I do that?

Isn't it accidentally set on ECON?
Some simple checks you can do cos it might be simple as a relay or fuse:
    1. Run a manual diagnostic check on it to make sure there's no servomotor or the sensor electrically failed.
    2. Check fuse F6 engine bay if it's good swap relays R11(compressor) with R12(front fogs) to rule out the relay
    3. make sure the compressor clutch's plug is well connected, you can give direct 12V feed to the clutch with wires to see if it's working or not...
    4. if the compressor clutch works with direct feed but doesnt kick in on aircon request unplug the dual pressure switch(top of the drier unit RH side behind the grill) bridge the pins in the plug and try then

according to the results we'll speak again though if you are not up to do these things and just want to bypass the heater matrix untill you'll have time to fix things for good that's no problem just bleed the cooling system after that.

Mine also does this, I have researched the issue a couple of times. From what I gather the motors that control the flaps fail.
Although I will have a look at what northiam has suggested.
I also considered taking the matrix out of the circuit but I am sure I read online people tried and it seems the engine realise on it as part of the engine cooling therefor they started to get over heating issues.

    Still no aircon

I have been ill for months and now recovered I hope.
Back to the aircon problem of mine.
I have checked that the compressor is working all seems in order there. When I turn the aircon on the engine rpm does drop slightly so I am convinced that the compressor is working however I am still not convinced that the sparky I went to was right about the gas.
In previous vehicles I had the same symptoms when the gas was down.
Is there some way I can check if I have gas before I go any further or do I have to go to another sparky?

If there is low gas pressure the compressor would not kick in cos the dual pressure switch will not let it
