    New custom bar

Had a new front bar custom made by Travis from West Performance in Ballan Victoria. Very happy with the result. 3mm plate all round. 5mm winch plate. All reinforced and well mounted.

Very happy with the results. Felt like showing off.

    Rock sliders are next.

Not much according to Travis. We didn't weigh it, though.

It made no difference to the height of the front suspension.

    Nice.

No it won't be SRS or ADR approved.
It won't be legal with those recovery protrusions, and what looks like the slightly raked forward bar.

You roll the dice and take the chances.... New custom bar

Yes, I am aware that it is not ADR or SRS approved. It os a gamble I am prepared to mount. However:

    • It does not slant forward. It is a very vertical front face and light bar.
    • The mounting is made through slots for the bolts so the bar will absorb some force when hit hard.

The bar actually got me out of a pickle. The whole front end was being rebuilt under insurance, but repairer was struggling to find a suitable front factory bar. I could not afford an off the shelf solution, so a custom bar fitted the brief and affordability. Saved me $800 on a commercial equivalent.

You can try hiding them with AEV Jeep crush can covers and make them removable to utilise for recoveries.

I did this with my Kia Sportage custom front bullbar. My recovery points are oval instead of triangular though so once I am through engineering I will be removing them to access the recovery points once my winch is fitted up.
Mine are currently stuck on with double sided tape. The crush can covers have bolts that you can screw in to the buffers and possible drill holes through them to put pins in on the other side of your bar and make them quick release.

    Cheers,

Just fit swivel hooks that fold flat to the bar. They comply!

Not a bad idea, though having anything Jeep on a Land Rover is a bit off. It would not take much to make some from blocks of rubber. Good shin protection.
