i had the autotechnica seats fitted to my old 80 series, already fitted when purchased. If you are a real Aussie gentleman (larger sized) you will struggle to get comfortable in them as they are narrow. The thigh bolsters used to dig in to my legs constantly.

The thigh bolsters are quiet high as well and it takes a certain stepping style to get into the seat with out hurting yourself. I had many a bruise on my left thigh from these seats. As the disco seat position is already quite high up especially if you have a Lift fitted your technique would need to be perfected to get in and out of these seats.
once in in the seat you are held in very well. For the average sized person they would be quite comfortable once you are in the seating position. I personally wouldn't recommend them for a 4wd there are better options out there.

Did a couple things this weekend.

Removed the rear handle casing, wipe away built up mud and dirt, wash and paint handle casing, replace the rubber gasket between car and trim casing. Also managed to do the front prop too

Felt some vibrations through the seats on the way to work on Friday. After some looking underneath and seeing nothing obvious I did some searching online and found symptoms and suggestions pointing to the front propshaft.

Got a rebuilt one from rover tech on Saturday, managed to get four bolts off the front but after a whole afternoon of that I gave up, soaked them in wd40 then went to Bunnings the next morning to create my own da1075. Cost was about 30 but a little more versatile then a specific propshaft bolt remover :)

New locking nuts back on, the right tools make a frustrating job much quicker.

Test drive, no vibes through to 80kmph/3500rpm (previously felt at varying degrees bfrom 40kmph/2500rpm onwards). Hi Kaaiju,

It was pretty easy to get everything from Bunnings. Essentially, you'll only need 3 items:

1) 9/16 hex socket - needs to be hex socket not 12 point as you've got a high chance or stripping the bolt and recommended socket size works best as size a 14mm socket is a super tight fit (9/16 works out to be 14.XXmm)

Oooft. What a day.

After about 30/40 mins of driving normally Im on a road at 70kph, about to go up hill, I hear the car pick up revs as cruise control is on however can feel no speed.

A little concerned but didn't think much of it until I got to the hwy on ramp and the td5 struggled to get to 60kph. Decided something is dead wrong so crawled to the servo close by and filled some fuel seeing as it was on the last notch (fuel gauge light wasn't on yet and it was definitely from the diesel nozzle and the time previous to this was 5 days before with about 70kms travel a day.) Upon getting back in, I started it but it died immediately afterwards. This didn't repeat as it came back after the second attempt. Rough idle but it's all I've got to work with figured best to get her to someone who know better.

Drove her (barely as she still didn't want to go much more than 50/60kph) to a rover mechanic who cleaned the maf, checked the red plug and did a stall test. Car idles rough, seems to be misfiring and blows small amount of white smoke when reved out. After this, he advised give it a run around and see if that's any better then call him and that the next check would be transmission oil.

Leaving the mechanic, td5 reved up to 3000 okay but still struggled to pick up speed. After a second failed onramp attempt where the rear bumper almost got kissed by a truck, I pulled over and called roadside to tow it back to the mechanic.

The mechanic has now called and advised that there is unleaded fuel in the tank and that the transmission oil was brown and burnt.

The oil seems like a little problem compared to the petrol so its not on my radar at the moment. Besides being dumbfounded as to how the petrol got there, I'm a bit worried about the repair bill.

The RAC said it's covered so I guess that's a silver lining however the excess will be 1300. The consultant I spoke to advised if the repair is below 1300 I can retract the claim and fix it externally without any problems

I guess what I'm posting for is as follows

1) have you ever had petrol in a td5, if so, how did it get there and how did you fix it?

2) what parts can I expect to need replacement and how much could they be?
