That'd be me, but in my defense ,I have a three cylinder deficit over you.

I dont think u could call it a flat spot.
But when i got my BD chip done, the noticed improvement is not down low or up high, its right in the middle.

I believe my friend ozscott is very happy with the standard ecm running his 4.6..
so you are one BIG jump ahead of him!!

but. if the airbox lid needs replacing then why not?

So, I sourced a good second hand RR filter lid which has the bigger diameter
Sourced new genuine bosch MAF to suit P38 RR (bigger diameter)
A made the existing connecting pipe from MAF to manifold fit by stretching it over the new MAF as others have described.
MAF was faulty, diagnosed by taking voltage measurements at the sensor when idling.
WOW what a difference to economy this has made.
That was the main reason into investigating the MAF as being faulty, as economy was high.....er than usual.
I dont recall any big fuel improvements last time I changed the MAF (it drove better, but I didnt know I could make a voltage measurement at the sensor)
Anyway fuel usage on LPG was averaging 22-23l/100, would normally sit around 20l/100
Now its averaging 17-18l/100. On fuel its now averaging around 14-16l/100
This is everyday driving, not highway km.
I can only assume that the bigger air lid and bigger MAF are responsible.
The 4.6 is back with good numbers!
