That looks good there John, I'm halfway through transferring a P2 from the RTV to the Disco and have mounted it down near the left knee, you got me wanting to change to that spot now.
Did you find metal to screw into there or just plastic for the bracket.

    Electric brake controller install

I mounted it quite forward. By memory the screws are only about 1" behind the front of the dash. I used 8ga (or was it 10ga??) 25mm self tappers. They seemed to pull in quite firm. I didn't use double sided tape under the bracket as well as I'd run out. The bracket, with the screws right seem to pull them down into the dash & 'indents' to top of the dash somewhat.

You might have trouble getting a drill in there because of the windscreen. I used a metal tek screw with a stubby screwdriver to get the hole started then used the self tapper once done. Not sure if it's thin metal under or not but it seem to work.

I used the silver screws supplied to mount the P3 to the bracket. The window side with a Phillips head and the dash side with a spanner and a flat screwdriver to hold it firm while tightening with the spanner

    Hope that makes sense

Are there any other options for mounting a Tekonsha Voyager? I don’t like the idea of drilling holes in the dash. Is it possible to mount in place of the ashtray?
