    things that trigger the immobiliser

I found another thing this morning that caused the car not to start.

    Lightning!

Went to start this morning in the garage and chug nothing, lock unlock and all OK.

There was a storm last night , but not a particularly severe one.

So this is in addition to the well known Chemist auto door effect, the RF interference effect ( not my car but another D2 waiting for the Kangaroo Island Ferry with me which would not start until arriving at Kangaroo Island even when we pushed it to the other end of the car park)

    Sensitive little devils aren't they.

As long as you know the Land Rover reboot you are OK.

    Regards Philip A

Find it hard to believe that lightning triggers off this, Myth busters will have to do an episode on this theory sure some one wasn't driving near by with a flux capacitor and hyclone

Well I am assuming its lightning as it has not failed to start for about 3 years , when near a chemist shop, and there was a lot of lightning last night. There was no other unusual event that I can think of to cause it. Also my set top box had a bit of a conniption this morning as well.

I usually have a couple of battery chargers operating in the garage, one for the car and one for SWMBO golf buggy and they don't seem to affect it.
I just remembered that I had another charger on for my new 5AH Ryobi battery yesterday but it has been on lots of times.

The Land Rover Reboot is to take the key from the ignition and lock and unlock via the remote. You do not have to get out of the car in my experience.

for me it happened once before when a truckie was parked out front all day while did some bobcat work, couldn't set house alarm or open gate or the disco, soon as he was gone all good. I think it is some sort of radio interference but how to correct it I just don't know. might be the same for you.

    thx

p.s ill change th batteries to make sure but one of the remotes is fairly new
    Cheers tt
