Thread: Compass mirror retrofit

On my 2003 S model; 7 seater. I read somewhere that its the only BMW part on the D2. Can anyone confirm or deny?

The rear view mirror in my 2004 D2 is a Gentex E11 015634.
It isn't wired up But is this one of the compass types?

There are lower spec modells which dont even have the wiring there... so better check this out first or you'll have to work more than you expected

I probably should clarify, mine did have two wires in one plug there. I think they were Green and Black from memory. Perhaps I got mixed up on which wires were there, maybe these where for the mirror and the wires that were not there were for the sunvisers with the lights. Actually this sounds right.

There was what I could only describe as a spherical sensor that clipped onto the roof (Very securely) under the roof lining on the drivers side just right of the front centre. I was sure at the time it was for the compass in the mirror, the sensor in the mirror i'm pretty sure is only for the headlight detection in the mirror.

That C0698 must be there which has a feed, an earth and a reverse input in it... i've seen modells which didnt have it and getting ignition feed and the reverse input there is a bit laborious

You were probably looking at the upper ACE sensor, the lower one is located under the vehicle below the right side 'B' "pillar.

Ahhhh. Thank you, It would seem I may have an ACE sensor for no reason at all LOL..

ACE sensor looks like this: SAM_8240.jpg
