    Replacing rear quarter panel ???

    Gday All,

    Has anyone replaced a rear 1/4 panel ?? If so is it a job that requires any special tools ?


    Any info would be great.

    No special tools are required. I used a sharp knife and paint scraper to cut away the sealant under the gutter. Screwdriver to remove interim boot trim, socket set to unbolt the panel from inside the boot. A drill Wass required to drill out a rivet at the bottom of the 1/4 panel near the mudflap bracket.

    You do need a sealant for the top of the panel (I used Sika 310ml Sikaflex-227 White Auto And Construction Sealant ) plus sealant tape between the new 1/4 panel and the body frame (I used Consolidated Alloys Butyl 48mm 15m Double Sided Tape 10266 )

    Then you'll need to paint the new sealant under the gutter.
