    V8 getting hot

Hi guys, another day and another problem with my Disco. I have a nanocom and had it running as I drove 1300k's. The engine temps sat at 92-93 when I was doing 100KPH and 95-96 when doing 110KPH. When I pulled over however and had the engine running at the aircon on it went up to 100.5

I was wondering if my viscous fan wasn't working as efficiently as it should and wondered if there is a way to test it. Or am I barking up the wrong tree and should I be looking elsewhere?

I should mention that I was towing a trailer with an estimated weight of 600kgs.

    if its all standard--
    its as it should be.
they run at 96 by design,,

but there is a very small difference between "by design" and total engine rebuild.

Lots of threads about V8 temps.

Do some reading in this Forum,,,,,

there is an easy way to test it. look it up, it involves a rolled up news paper and sticking it in the viscous fan while the engine is running.

100 is normal for the D2 Rover V8, but not necidsarily good. Odds are you're engine is ok. Check for coolant leaks at every hose clamp and at the water pump and rectify as necessary. If no coolant loss, look at lower thermostat rating if you are still concerned.

Can't leak there if it's bypassed.

I do have a slight leak around the back of the pas pump! It's very slight and not constant, I seem to lose around 15mm out of the coolant tank and then no more🤔
I was more concerned about it getting to 100 degrees albeit for a very short period and the fact that the temp gauge didn't go past halfway where it seems to sit all the time once hot!
Should I replace the temp sender?

Edit: throttle body has been bypassed

Once the temp gauge moves it all over cooked rover,,,

Lots of threads here about swapping thermostats to a lower temp,,
    do your engine a favour--
