here it is more sludgy, but it doesn't really feel like grease. More just like oil mixed with brake dust and dust. That mark is just where I put my finger.

So do you think I am just going to be up for $10 for an oring or is it going to be $400 (or what ever the price is ) for a new hub?

Mine was very similar only not as wet a lot of brake dust mixed what seemed to be oil not grease. Going to change the o ring and blow out the dif breather and see how it go's. but if I was going on a trip like you would probably change the hub as well just for piece of mind.
