The SLS height controller is just a PLIP remote replacement. I haven't tried mine while moving, but from memory the rules are:
    - all doors closed
    - ignition on (engine on or off)
    - speed < 4kmh (I think on this one, it may need to be zero to operate, but the is a statement that standard ride height will be restored above Xkmh, which was 4 from memory)

I've used it mainly to drop and it will drop to the bump stops I think (certainly as low as I'd expect), max height I am not certain, it doesn't seem to be able to go to off road height, but I haven't truly checked.

Now, I also considered actually intercepting the height sensor voltages, but didn't progress it. It would be relatively easy to do and have a digital pot control the output voltage to the ECU. This would allow you to temporarily override the actual height. By sending ~0V it will cause it to go to max height, by sending 5V it will go to min height (or vice versa). That kind of override is very simple (in fact you don't need a micro for that, you can literally just use a 3 position switch (On-Off-On2) I reckon.

If you want middle control you need a pot, digital or otherwise. If you want to apply an offset (i.e. cause it to ride Xmm above or below the calibrated height) then you'd need a micro.
I'm open to ideas, but I would think to make a reasonably safe product for road use it would need to be a bit annoying, i.e. it will override only for Y minutes before needing reconfirming, unless the speed signal was also intercepted. I haven't checked the speed of the digital pots in any great detail, but I'd expect you might have a lag of between 1ms and 20ms from change at the actual sensor to the ECU getting a new value. That could be noticeable.

I would be interested in the sls plip for drop function as similar/same as factory option.

Especially with the ever cheaper reverse cams. Of the high end stuff my car lacks, this would be the one I would like to have. ACE is nice and all that... but this rocks.

I have the hunter di unit and it works well. I also have a spare sls blipper if anyone wants to make an offer. Never used. Brand new (I ended up with the switch that was made by someone that did bump to extended on the dash).

I actually did it for the camper trailer, the ball weight is.. high? We had problems unhitching and then after getting the pin out (this is a treg type thing) we move the rover forward and it went up to max height with the camper removed. Scared the crap out of me and could have been dangerous.
Also had the issue of if the rover is on a slope it was tricky to get it low enough to hitch. It has totally helped all that.

I'll talk to my oppo who does the electronics stuff and see about producing a few SLS ones. The bluetooth option will push the price up because of the extra components and will also put a delay on it as it needs both the firmware and Android software written. An iOS would be longer still, I barely touch development on that platform.

And yet the high end stuff user is more likely to use IOS, if the demographic stuff I see is any guide. Unless they've moved on.

The problem with iOS development is that you can only do it on a Mac, I have one for that purpose, but often times the stuff I have done has been Android only, either because it is a PoC for part of a system or actually needed some aspect of the open platform (e.g. we were messing with the radio layer to get some extra info, which you can't do on iOS).
When you already have a solution with HTML, Java, CSS, C#, C/C++ and Java on windows, linux, embedded and Android, it's just not worth the headache of getting the iOS version working as proof of concept....
    But that's way of topic
