04 HSE V8 Auto - convert to manual???

Just thinking, the D2a HSE is exactly the car I have always wanted - except for one thing, the Auto trans.

So with that in mind I was wondering if it is possible to convert it from auto to manual using stuff from a V8 Manual D2, any specific stuff that might make the HSE more difficult a swap that straight S trim level conversion?

    Many thanks

    Easy enough.
You'll need a manual pedal box, all the manual trans specific stuff like gearbox, cooler, clutch switch, etc, plus centre console and probably a manual ecu. I have a link saved on my laptop, a bloke in the US did it. I'll find it for you

Shouldn't be tough with all the gear. You can add a stock (pre D2a manual stock...) manual trans cooler lines to the auto trans cooler and box.

The manual gives the V8 D2 a fantastic feel...muchus fun.

    Cheers

    Thanks all,
Yeah I have driven a D1 with manual for a month or so a while back and loved it - when I was searching for the D2a, in the back of my mind I really wanted a manual - but stronger desire to get the HSE, so seeing as I will be keeping this one for a while - I may as well start getting stuff together and planning the change! not in any mad desperate hurry (auto is perfect condition and only 180,000 fully serviced klm)
But may as well start hunting bits and pieces

A complete damaged donor vehicle would be ideal if you can find one rather than bits and piece. The down side is you need to have storage for it.

The complete damaged wreck is actually my first choice as I do have storage space for one!
will have to get hold of Outback1 and see what he has coming up, and keep my eyes peeled at Salvage auctions and the like for a manual
