    Discovery 2 ECU Chip

Hi, The Ecu is Chipped but i don't know from who or what chip it is as i bought the discovery 2. Can i take out the ecu and take the cover off and see? As i want to know what boost the ecu is tuned for?

    Thanks

IMO taking off the ECU cover would not help much for what you want especially if it's NNN but even in a MSB all you'll see is a chip which will not reveal anything on it's own

You "must" be able to de-lid it,, but after seeing mine quite a few times, I dunno how,,,

so the early ones actually had a new chip soldered in?

sounds like it would be easier to buy a NNN and just flash it,,

    yes? no?

    Well,,,,
if its NOT a plain silver alloy box about 15 x 12 x3cm,,
and it has MSB printed on it,,

I'd say its a MSB chip,,

    try here---

I would get the seriel number off the ECU case, ring Davis Performance and ask nicely

OK, is the serial number the string of numbers next to the ECU?

IMO you are not on the good path, no serial mumbers or any markings on or in the MSB ECU are relevant to see if it's chipped or not, if you open it and the main chip is in a socket which is soldered to the PCB it means it's chipped, if the chip is soldered directly in the PCB as factory fitted it's not remapped.... that's all you can find out visually, to see the actual fuel map and how it's remapped you need to remove that chip and read it with a chip programmer/reader
