I got over 800 km from 95 litres, pretty happy with that considering the car is chockers and towing a 500kg trailer with the cruise set for 100~105 most of the day.
    Parkes? So, through Hay then.

No. Yarraman. Before Nanango. Logical outcome if you turn right at Warwick.

I was referring to the Hungry Jack's corner. To avoid any geographical embarrassment I went Toowoomba and the Gore, despite hating that rough goat track.

Funny, isn't it. I always preferred it to the Cunningham. Especially after the did the road down the Range.

Hay was never on the agenda for day one. Optimistically I was planning West Wyalong but happy with anywhere beyond zootown. 'er next to me had had enough by Parkes and is now pushing out the zeds.
Ean, take no notice of John, Ipswich to Hay is too big an ask for a Scania.

I'm in a D2, do NRMA go as far as Walgett and Bourke?

I would have gone through the Hill except I'm not prepared to spend a night at Cobar or Willcania. I spent a night at Willcania in a flash race car transporter, because there was no 24 hour fuel. I parked across the road from the police station and slept with one eye open.

The BP at Wilcannia will open up for you if you are in a truck.

Sleep? I slept with both eyes open if I was anywhere near a town out there. No point parking near the cop shop, those buggers are home tucked up.
