Manual 2000 TD5 Disco slow acceleration hesitation on take off solved.
After months of fruitless searching the web, Nanocom readings and getting nowhere i finally solved the issue with a 2 cm piece of wire.
It seems that subject to other advice on web sites. The discovery has a clutch switch located on the drivers side guard near the brake booster. i removed the plug and bridged the wires as per advice ( sorry cant remember site) Took it for a lap and all i can say is wow. A new car to drive. My understanding is the switch provides a signal to the ECU to cut fuel when clutch is depressed to allow engine revs to drop quickly during gear changes and also controls the cruise control. On driving around i can find nil issues with engine revs going up or down gears. I can confirm the cruise control does not work now. (i do not care as i have survived without on for years). In closing i probably can spend money on a new switch but i am happy with the results. I can find no detrimental issues at this time. Happy to be shown i'm walking a tight rope of doom for my engine time will tell. BAz
