When I had my issue with my RRC front shaft 'a million' years ago, it vibrated from a set speed(AFAIR) about 80ish .. but continued on. Didn't top out (at say 110) or so. I backed off when it seemed I couldn't handle it any longer.

I'd have thought that if a prop shaft is running out of balance(eg. due to unis or spline wear) it'd vibrate from where ever it begins and continue on till you can't stand it any longer and back off.
With my RRC, my vibration started after I greased everything up, including the spline joint. I'd guess with my issue back then, it must have had some hardened grease, the new grease dislodged it and exacerbated the worn splines and started to vibrate.
Chased many suspension related parts till I removed the front shaft, when the vibration disappeared.

I got that one rebuilt and balanced.

You don't have a centre diff lock fitted to yourD2 do you .. easiest way to check the front shaft.
    remove, lock centre diff, test.
    Arthur.

    Great advice.

I normally don't run the D2 up past the vibration top. You could be right.

I am getting ready to install the factory CDL linkage. I might do that first then check the shaft.

Easier to do as previously suggested , by removing the shaft ,locking the cdl by using an open end 10 mm spanner on the actuator and turning anti clockwise when looking from underneath then go for a drive, that way you don't have to remove the shaft twice when you fit the cdl linkage

Your symptoms sound the same as I had. Replaced engine and gearbox mounts(3of4 completely broken) for not much improvement. Then replaced rotoflex and all good.

Thanks, but they have already been replaced. All mounts and the rotoflex coupling.
