I guess one thing all of us need to know is: 1) how many people will be in the vehicle 2) are you setting up for touring and will it be a permanent fixture.
Another idea is the use of a water bladder on the floor behind the drivers seat.

We are heading off on a 6-8 week trip on Thursday, I will take a few images of how I load my truck when touring when I have loaded up.
We take two vehicles when we go away, The Missus tows our little pop up van and carries the spare fuel and water on her Hilux and I carry all the tools, recovery gear and both 12v fridges ( 40l + 80l ) and tow the boat.
The fuel costs are doubled by taking 2 cars But the upside is that we don't have to "Skimp" on what kit we take and there is always that safety factor by having 2 4WD's in a remote area.
We are fully self sufficient when we go away even down to carrying a small inverter type welder (just in case) so we don't travel "Light" and the only things we need to replenish along the way is fuel and fresh veg/salad stuff.

Not sure if you have a roof rack or not?
if not, don't underestimate how useful they can be, and they help massively with the stuff that can easily go up there.
eg. tents, chairs ... and other stuff like that.
I ended up getting a flat(ie. no side rails) full length alu mesh floor that barely weighs anything. My plan was to only fit it when I needed it for trips, but it's so unintrusive, I've yet to take it off.
Being Al, it only weighs about 20kg, and while I've yet to take it off, I'm sure I can do it on my own. I fitted it up there on my own(without damage to the roof).
I also have a cargo barrier(which I chopped in half from full sized to half sized) which still allows the use of folded rear seat(s) if required too.
On our last trip in Jan, the back was chocked up to roof height, on the way in, I only had to put one clothes bag on the roof rack everything else was carried in the car.
On the way home, having drunk the water carried in, there was now more room for the clothes bag in the car again .. roof rack empty.
Arthur.
All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

I made a table. All fits very well and very sturdy. Attaches to cage though so that might not suit. Lack of shelving and fridge slide maximises space. Fridge slides out easily on carpet but you could attach a thin sheet of alloy to carpet if you wanted it to be even easier. I love this set up. Literally all space is used and stuff is easily accessed. Cheers
Ps. 4 wolf packs in there on floor behind 3 shown. Almost enough space for a 5th pack behind the front 3 but this spot was good for large clothes bag.
Fully loaded except for my clothes bag which will fit behind the front seats with ease.
all I have in the front is my 12v pie warmer on the floor and I will have a small esky on the passenger seat as well.

Still heaps of room behind the front seats

Plenty of room for the 20L + 80L fridges also plenty of room to let them "Breath"
I have them on 240v at the moment and when I disconnect that they will automatically kick in to the 12v system.
