    AirCon Ticking

Recently found the air conditioner on my 2004 to produce a ticking/clinking noise that seems to be most prominent when outside temp is same as set temp. Doesn't seem that audible when running demister etc on cold mornings.

Before I begin to pull the dash apart is there any particular direction I should get someone with better ears than mine to stick their head?

The most common cases of aircon noise are either leaves in the blower fan , which is pretty easy to remove and clean or bumfluff in the little air sampler fan to the RH of the steering column.
AFAIR for fan remove glovebox, remove sound pad under, disconnect plug, undo 4? nuts , drop down.
My ticking was a ball point pen that had fallen down a demist vent.

    Parking tickets are another culprit.
It is worth being careful where you place them , and removing them before you drive off.
