On an RRC?
It's not legal. Full stop.
IF you're going to do it, do it properly. The RRC uses a standard 7" light afaik, which will happily take a bixenon projector.
If you check out theretrofitsource.com there is heaps of info and a link to the HID Planet forums. I'd thoroughly recommend TRS to buy from as well.

Classic = D2 "Classic" package with extra mouldings and mats LRA put together to sell off the last of the D2s before the D3 hit the docks. So the last D2 lighting shape with the separate high and low beam units rather than the single reflector.

Not a RRC with 7 inch reflectors - been there, done that, replaced sealed beams on my '77 with 130W H4s back in the day

I'm keen to install a Lightforce HID kit in my old Lightforce 170 Strikers, should I go the whole hog and do the highbeams as well?
Is there a kit that is an easy install on D2s with the last lighting set up?

The globes you are looking for are H7 type, I upgraded mine a couple of years back to HID without any dramas.

And oncoming drivers flashing you, or hitting hi-beam just as you're about to go past. You may enjoy a nice bright light, but the scatter off your unsuitable reflectors will only p*** others off.

Mate your spot on, nothing peeves me off more that these drivers that fit these modifcations and you are on the dangerous receiving end, I have this problem at night on the narrow windy forest roads around here, I even had one 4WD come up behind me whilst driving my sons hatch and the entire interior lit up, the reflection in both out side mirrors was blinding,
It was very difficult to drive and on a winding narrow road with an enbankment on the left side there was no where to pull over and let this spanker past. Yes they like the increased light to the annoyance and safety of the other road users. I really wish the cops had a blitz on this.

but why not try these?
FYRLYT Driving Lights superior to any HID or LED regardless of price.
they seem to be a good thing and not as much strain on your eyes
