My Discovery 2 TD5 is fitted with a P15 engine, but camshaft and rocker shaft are from a P10 engine, does this gives big difference on engine torque or any work than P15 camshaft and rocker shaft?
I know there is a difference between P15 and P10 engines but I'm not sure, will it make any difference if P15 engine will be equipped with camshaft and rocker shaft from P10 engine, I just trying to find out why my D2 td5 have such lazy start and can't climb up on steep slopes without Low gear.
On higher speed and with turbo it's ok, drives well but a start is horrible.
I replaced MAF sensor, cleaned all rest of sensors, blanked EGR, planning to replace Waste Gate Actuator for Turbo and Fuel Injector Wiring Harness Engine Loom I don't know what else to do please advise anyone

is it holding fuel pressure ? if its not holding pressure in the fuel rail they will crank a bit before they start while fuel pressure builds up, this could also be causing issues with not enough line pressure to the injectors while running
if you start it let it run for 10 seconds turn it off then try and start it again is it hard to start or instant fire up?
Black or green top injectors David?, if green top I would suggest changing the cam and rockers back to 15 / 16 p as it will wear the cam prematurely, and the rocker ratios are different to cope with the higher injection pressure , and yes , the later set up will give more torque, do you have eu2 or eu3 intercooler? ( eu2 = 27 mm eu3 = 40 mm wide and the better of the two , better again is allisport or other higher performance coolers. Do you have a way of measuring boost , if yes what is it , also if someone has changed cam they may not have set cam timing properly
Yes, I have green top EU3 injectors, I'm trying to get P15 cam and rockers but here in Georgia from where I am it's hard to find unless of someone dismantle his own. trying to get from eBay. I checked injectors performance on computer and they jumping and I will try to measure boost if possible here.
regarding timing, I've been thinking about it also but someone told me if the timing is not properly fitted engine would not start.
thanks for the excellent advice I will follow up
Quite a bad idea to have it setup this way don't doubt its running like a dog
P10 has a lower injector pressure than the P15-P20 I think the injector cam profile is different as is the timing chain.
The tuning is also quite different which I would of thought was your problem.
Might be best to change it back to the original configuration
