    D2 steel rims maximum tyre width

    What is the maximum width tyre i can fit on the steel rims

    The steelie is 16x7, but for the maximum width you really should check out the tyre manufacturers guides as they are different between manufacturers even with the same given size. eg, the odd (Mickey Thompson) manufacturer would allow 285/75-16 on 16x7's but they were almost the only ones. Generally 265/75 is about as wide as you would typically go and no doubt people will have fitted tyres that are wider than the manufacturers recommendations. I would expect if you maintain the standard diameter you will be not too far from 235mm

    Tiresize.com shows a buttload of specs for a buttload of tyres, including permissible rim widths.
