    water jacket threaded plug

    Hi guys
i have found a pool of coolant on the block.rhs looking from the front of car towards the rear
line of coolant along the head at block join..cylinder head done 5k ago so perhaps unlikely to be that
there is a plug behingd the exhaust manifold described in rave as part 23 water jacket threaded plug
there is coolant around the plug...dry of course
are these plugs a problem sealing, is it a likely cause of the issue?

    Thanks Everyone
    Russ

Hi Russ, short answer is yes it's likely to be that, you'll have to remove the exhaust manifold.

I just cleaned up my original plug and used Stag Jointing Paste to reseal. Stag Jointing Paste 200G That was about 20,000Km ago and it's still sealing all OK.

If its the plug I am thinking off, I was asked once for one and no suppliers had them in stock, they never get replaced, they don't get damaged, sealant applied to thread fixes the problem
    cheers, mario
