Thread: Oil leaking from EGR cooler mounting holes?

When i removed the EGR system I didnt bother putting the mounting bolts for the cooler back it, as I felt they were no longer required.

it turns out that without them in place there is an oil leak, which caused my serpentine belt to fail!

Is this a common feature of the TD5 engine? Fortunatley its easilly fixed by replacing the bolts.

The off side (drivers) bolt hole opens into the timing case, I found out by accident too.
