Just trying to keep abreast with alternative ideas. My first thought was problem with power steering system ie low speed = low revs = low fluid throughput = harder steering = old age.
If the uni joint is the fault then interesting that binding is not noted at speed as well, given geometry doesn't change with speed. Maybe too much degreaser splashed around the engine bay, washing out lubrication?
As with all new components, a new uni joint will titivate the under hood appearance of the vehicle.
Getting old now so the mammaries don't come so easy to hand, and I'm making more spelling mistakes to boot.
