I left mine on the vehicle and carefully masked around/newspapers, cleaned up with a little turps. Too humid to paint today and rain forecast the next few days so not sure when I will get to do my gloss clear coat, but will have photos when I am able!Quote:

I used to think that the D2 looked better with flares but now I think they are better without! :D
I have used a product called Back to Black, got off ebay, on plastic and such with good results.
A heat gun works well based on you tube videos to restore plastic parts. Heats the surface enough to melt aawy the white fading.
I am yet to try it myself but there are lots of videos of it doing a great job.
I suggest you leave them on but protect the duco with tape first.Quote:

You could also apply/spray 'Primer Surfacer' (available from Auto-One etc) before final sanding and coating. I've found this excellent for eliminating any minor imperfections and giving a good sound base for the final coat/s.Quote:

This process worked especially well with the wheel arches and the vinyl wheel cover (maybe because they are more porous).
Product called Black Chrome used for all the black rubber / plastic exterior trims .. Availabke from Supercheap ect.
