    D2 SLS Rear Spring Height

When I removed my rear coils and went back to airbags, we set the ride height with a computer. I've got new OME springs (40mm lift) and OME shocks all round.

After reading a few threads about how lifting the rear with the height sensors is not as good as using spacer blocks, I'm now thinking of buying 50mm spacer blocks.

This kind of thing (I know lots of places sell them, this is an example)

White Tiger Spring spacer 50mm rear Discovery 2

Will I need anything else? The height sensors are already calibrated to the desired ride height so I'm thinking that I don't need a 50mm ride height sensor 'adapter' ( White Tiger SLS 40mm height increase kit ). The OME shocks were bought with the +40mm springs that I removed. They should be long enough from factory mounts shouldn't they?

What's prompted this? I've been playing with the off-road ride height setting (+2") and have noticed how far the bags have to rise. To be honest I'm a bit concerned! Brake lines should be fine?

I've got the same kit. I went for the sensor adaptors too but have them in the lower of the settings. I don't think you need them. The white tiger lift blocks are good pieces of kit.

You will need a nanocom or equivalent to level out the ride height once you install them though so you can set the correct height exactly. 12 months after installing mine I dropped the air bag height slightly to match the front springs as they settled.

Make sure you have the rear a few mm lower than the front when you set it up with the nanocom (as per rave) for best handling results. Higher in the rear = unstable handling and it will track all over the place like a bastard. Know that for a fact D2 SLS Rear Spring Height

I also have the OME springs and shocks all round which I find great.

I wouldn't worry for a 40mm lift. I've flexed mine and had no drama with brake lines in a few years now.

Check your ABS lines at full extension. Common thinking is up to 50mm lift doesn't need extension but I found on mine I could over-stretch one side so I added extensions for my 50mm lift.

Thanks for the info. But if I leave my height sensors where they are & put the 50mm blocks under the springs the springs should only fill until the sensors achieve current height (I mean that I don't think that I'll have to reset the heights with a nanocom)?

Good point. Maybe lift the chassis with a high lift jack & see what happens.

But the rear will then sit 10mm higher at least at the back. That will compound as the springs settle and make your handling crap.

I'm guessing you don't own a nanocom then D2 SLS Rear Spring Height? Plenty of nice folks on here that'll lend you one if you need it.

Chuck the blocks in and see how it goes.

Fair point. I hadn't thought of that.

Nanocom is on the shopping list...along with ecu remap, winch, jack & shovel holder, 10m 4b&s cable, seat covers...I'll stop here!

These came today. They seem quite good quality. Famous last words, but I really can't anticipate any installation issues, it seems really straight forward.
