    Nanocom readings

Went for a drive as a passenger so I could play with Nanocom today and found a couple of readings I'm not happy with.

    1. The (reading for) kickdown is constantly closed. I would have expected it to be open until kicked down.

    2. Looking at all the gear upshift readings, all have a zero value except the second 1-2 shift reading which shows a value of 248.

Could the kickdown be causing the high reading on the gear change or could the high reading on the gear change cause the kickdown to think it was required.

Somewhere along the line I'm starting to suspect a solenoid or a trapped wire in the transmission system.

This 1 - 2 shift is the worse one but all shifts are harsh to a point and kick down doesn't work very well, which it may not if it is in kick down mode all the time.

Can anyone throw any light on this in view of these readings please.

    Regards

    Mike

All fixed, my fault but they didn't charge me!!!!

    Isn't that sweet of them?

Some "gunk" in the solenoid body, they say it must have happened when I replaced the motor because I would have had to take out the radiator.

I pointed out that the trans oil cooler is separate, nothing to do with the radiator.

Eventually got through that trans fluid did not go through a cooler in the radiator then a separate cooler, whee.

Well you must have moved it and dislodged something inside the cooler.

"We do a thorough flush when we do up a transmission", well guess what, it can't have been thorough enough this time.

All done, no charge and it is sweet again.

    Cheers

Exactly what happened to me at one point..... found the screen on the main pressure solenoid partially blocked. Caused bad shifts and eventually limp mode after it got to operating temp...
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
