    NO ... but with a mindful yes.

    The yes component that I recently discovered ...
    If you want to upload an encrypted(ie copyrighted) MAP(actually TUN!) file to the ECU for some performance gains out of the 5 banger .. use the ECU VIN number .. and not the BCU one.

    of course to those that know .. it makes sense.
    But even after 5 years of experience with a specific vehicle, you only know it .. once you know it. Before this point in time, ignorance of facts was a nicer place to be at.

    Anyhow, once I worked out that the body, BCU and ECU all had different VINs .. more of the unknown history of this D2 became known.

    See now that is good information.. seeing as my TD5 ECU matches the chassis VIN but has a TRS tune.

    Being that the BCU has a different VIN (because it was replaced prior to me buying it) I wondered if perhaps if reset it to some default value. So now I know from what you've said that I haven't. Cheers!
