I have had it in my D2 for about 4.5 years now and I reckon it is great. I had it changed with no system repairs when I bought the car as the 134A had leaked out.

AFAIR there is only 210Grams in the system and it has remained cold with no leaks AFAIK. Apparently the molecule size is also larger than 134A so fewer leaks and this seems to be achieved in practice.

It also makes life easier for the compressor as it has a lower head pressure than 134A.

I note that about every fridge for the last 15 years uses LPG based gas.

Funny I was just thinking I should get the local bloke out to check it but seeing it is working perfectly I might let it go.

    aircond

As you can buy the stuff without a ticket I thought I would give it ago. They wont a min 880 dollar to upgrade my trade cert just to buy the fridge gas. It also seems to be better for the envioroment and less hassle with the compressor oil. You can use the old R12 oil so is less corosive.
