    TD5 twin alternator mount.

I saw this in the latest LRO.
Unfortunately probably not much use in OZ at it goes where the aircon compressor goes.

You could put that where the ACE isn't. But why?

Well I fitted 2 alternators to my RRC 3.9 with the original alternator running the car as normal, and the second running the house battery completely separately .
In Kakadu, the regulator failed on my car alternator , and it was a simple job to rewire to run on the second and that enabled me to get to Darwin and parts with no wait.

I had a spare alternator and it was a case of "I reckon that would fit above the aircon compressor"
With only the house battery running off it, the battery charged much quicker. AFAIR , I also wired the spots through it so that the current draw was equalized.
    It worked very well.
I currently have a spare alternator, but nowhere to put it! LOL.

The top Rad hose sits on top pf the alternator so that is a wear point from rubbing, I notice in one pic there are 2 rubber rings used to try and prevent rubbing, but the hose looks kike it is still sitting on top.

Wouldn't fitting an alternator with more output be a better option than mucking about adding a second alternator.
The standard alternator puts out 120A.

Is there a higher output option available?

I think the D4 alternators put out 180 amps so there are obviously more powerful alternators than the standard D2 unit available
I can run 2x fridges ( one as a freezer at -15c) and all my lights spotlights and lightbar and the standard 120 amp alternator has No problem keeping up.

Yeah, I was aware that there are plenty of higher output alternators in existence in general, but I meant any that are a bolt on fit for the TD5.
