I've got one of these

with the EGT and boost modules.

I like it. You get a bit of a visual cue as the leds light up (although you cant calibrate when they kick in). But you get a big digital readout. You can also set an alarm mode for them so that when it hits the threshold temp/pressure it will automatically display that input and make the whole gauge flash. It also does give you a high and low readout for each trip.

Reasonably easy to install too.

I grew up with illuminated 2" Smiths guages,...."damned fine machinery",.....still the best mechanical guages IMHO.

I never got on with Smith's chronometric tacho's, so ran electronic ones instead.
