The box is designed to do this,, "seamless changes" (thanks for the reminder Pippin[smilebigeye]) so ANY extra stress will make lockup all that more difficult for the box to achieve, like heat, bigger tyres, lack of servicing.....
and if only it was a 5 speed [bigrolf]
I have a torque convertor lock up switch and when it is engaged it will change up while locked but not down - if you want it to. So if it is in 3rd gear on the shifter and at the right revs i can manually lock it and it will stay locked until I manually unlock it. To change to 4th i unlock it, move the shifter to D and at the right revs manually lock it. You can manually lock up every gear and on the beach it is great
No. A home made job
Hmm,,
so.... when you're waiting for the correct revs-- (in neutral?)
the car stops. (sand will do that)
or are you saying the box is driving unlocked until You pick the lockup time/speed?
but isnt that what the box does already??
the great thing with an auto on the beach is its ability to continue to provide drive while changing gears,, yes?
if the box is not locking for WHATEVER reason,, theres a problem,, sand or no
take into consideration I've only ever driven V8's on the beach,, well everywhere really [bigrolf]
and V8's lockup.
So, emanwa,
Was that by earthing pin 32 on the eat?
Seriously people if you want the auto to behave like a manual box then simply put a manual box in your D2.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the auto box in ANY situation, Maybe if you learned how to get the best out of your D2 auto you will find that this mod isn't necessary [thumbsupbig]
