    Flashing M, S & D??

All was going well, I was coming up the big expressway hill at 100k in my D2 TD5 (TRS remap) and I noticed the M, S & D flashing. This is the 1st time this has happened.

I’m home now & have it turned off - I’ll check it later to see if it’s still doing it. I was still able to drive fine, but I noticed that it was having trouble taking off from a stand. I’m not sure if it is changing gears. I service the auto regularly and have only noticed the usual oil drips, nothing large.

Any ideas? I don’t have a nanocom, but I do only live 8k from TRS here in Adelaide.

This normally indicates that there is something amiss with the transmission, I would get it checked out at a Landrover specialist ASAP.

Mine did that with faulty alternator... can you put a multi-meter on it? You would think the battery light would come on first...

When those lights are flashing your auto will take off from 3rd gear from a stand still. That's why it will be sluggish from take off. You may have an underlying problem some where. Switch the car off then on again and it should clear.

X2, except that any reputable auto specialist should do. Mine did that a few times, and then it died. I think I overheated it towing, but who knows?

Limp mode. Turn it off and on and it should clear.

I had these lights come up on the way back from a fishing trip towing my boat, I just stopped and restarted the engine and they went away.
I got the transmission serviced as soon as I got home (The oil looked like it had come out of a diesel engine) and I haven't had any problems in the last 10,000K's which has included a lot of boat towing and beach/bush work.
Maybe you just need a transmission service, When was the last time yours was serviced?

    Really? Ok I’ll check that.

When I got home I left the car off for an hour or so, the fault cleared & it hasn’t done it again. Just towed the Jayco outback camper through the hills around Adelaide with no problems. I will take a kind forumite up on the off to nanocom scan when we get back.
