IMO it's not the best setup cos this way you dont have both fog lamps in working order while the passenger side fog lamp will come on together with the fan which might blow the 15A fuse cos for the fan is 40A...if you want command for the cooling fan it's enough to route one wire, an earth through a switch spliced into the green/orange wire from C0067 in the compartment under the steering wheel that's all, when you switch on the earth the fan will come on through it's own relay cos that earth is the same with the fan request from the aircon unit.

This is true, I meant as a temporary measure to see if the extra air flow makes a difference. There is little point spending money on aftermarket equipment in the hope it will solve the issue if you are not sure of what the problem is in the first place.

It would also pay to unplug the other fog light, as you mentioned. I can confirm it does work as I've currently done the same thing to my car and the 15A fuse as not blown. I recently cleaned out the air con condenser, utilising the fan in this way has let me establish the extra air flow is assisting the cooling system. Therefore the condenser is not blocking the air flow.

I'm my case I've fitted a larger capacity radiator before trying to fit aftermarket fans.

When the fan is activated using an extra switch as you've outlined, does it also activate the Air Con, or just the fan?
