these measurements are made at the door's switch?
Swap the switches to rule out the switch cos it's suspect
Yes they were made at the switch, I tested both sides, and detected 12v on two wires on the good side, and only one on the dodgy side, I swapped switches at the start to rule that one out.
so where do I go from here, where do the wires go to from here ? Thank lots for help so far, progress is being made :)
So to start fresh, if you made this measurement at the switch which is on the door then swap the console switches cos the feed for the door switches is coming from there and then the fault will move to the other side, if no joy after swapping the console switches you'll have to makethose measurements i've told you on the white/pink wires at the console
at this point as long as the other side is working put the relay back and leave it be
So Surfingooner,
Would you mind if I asked a rear windows related question, by gate crashing your post? If so I will delete ;-)
I've just bought a P38 HSE, so might be the wrong site.
Just wondering if the rear window on my 1995 Range Rover, can somehow be told to GO ALL THE WAY DOWN, as it ONLY goes just under half way.
We don’t have kid's, so it's not a safety issue, but Really ****es the dog 🐶 off....lol 😁
Hope you find the fault with your window soon, bloody electrical gremlins can be a nightmare :-(
Cheers Rob
Hi Rob,
i think you will will find the shape of your door prevents the windows from going all the way down ?
Thanks Sierrafery, so how do I switch the console over ? I will try that next.
Thanks again. Matt.
Thanks Matt, didn't look at that ;-)
Cheers Rob
The cover of the console switches is push-clipped in, unclip it carefully then you'll have access to the switch pannel which is with screws then get to the rear window switches, unplug and swap, see attachment
Sierrafery, thank you very much for guiding me through this. The problem was the switch for the window in the console, if I swap with 2 switched (ie in the console and in the suspect door) it works. It needs both switches to be in and working. So I will get a new switch and job done.
I could not have fixed this myself, thanks again to people on the forum.
Welcome, i'm glad it's sorted
