The odds on both cars fans being slow/bad are fairly remote,,,
Hi all. I have two discos td5s a 1999 and a 2001 model. Now the only issue i have is the aircon fans in both , blow what I would call a poor amount of air, when even set on hi. No faults shown doing self aircon test. Any ideas as to an uprated fan motor . I have removed motors and cleaned them out. No significant difference. Suggestions ?

Mine makes a fair bit of air but before didn’t because of leafs in the blower
Another issue I have now is hot air sometimes at the feet!!!
I think some of the foam filter from the front is blocking the flaps as I’ve had bits come out the drivers vents
My two cars are chalk and cheese. The 2004 D2a has a brilliant fan and cold air system, but the 1995 RRC softdash apparently is the same as an early D2 and is woeful by comparison as far as actual air delivery is concerned - but it at least does blow cooled air!
I think I vaguely remember a comment along the lines of a different/enhanced vent/air blending system being introduced in later models?

If I leave it on auto , my aircon just about blows me out of the car on a hot day, accompanied by copious amounts of noise.
Seeing 2 fans act the same , I wonder if you have a fault in the electronics of the dash console that will not allow full voltage to the fan.
Why not try the fan on 12 volts directly from the battery and see what it does?
