    What is this cable for?

I worked on my car today (intake manifold) and found one cable which goes nowhere. It comes from behind the fuse box.
I have tried to find any place where it could be connected but nothing. Is it something which is for a factory extra what is not installed, or something which is done by a previus owner?

First thing I thought when I saw your images was: "where's your brake booster?" .. then I noticed you're in Hungary!

So I reckon one of two possibilities with that wire.
    1. an old accessory like a compressor or something
    2. possibly a second battery.
Either way, whatever it was, it's been removed prior to sale.

going by the estimated size of the cable, I'd say more likely a second battery.

An old bloke I used to know had something like this, only the other end was connected via a small switch to one of the spark plug leads, when some one would pick it up and ask what’s this for, he would reply, “oh that’s for starting the donkey motor” at the same time flicking the switch. He used to catch many people like that.

Looking at the space around the cable I'd say second battery or compressor the wiring job doesn't look like Landover done it in factory.

Yep, not factory! Hopefully it's not live! See if you can trace it to the other end. Judging by the size of the cable it would have carried a pretty fair current.

If it can reach near your starter battery positive terminal I would agree that it's most likely to be a second battery cable. The other end may be found in one of the rear bins in the cargo area.

    Thanks for the ideas!
I will try to find the other end to see if it is connected and if it is alive.

I remember that the parking heater (webasto) position is also somewhere in this area, so the cables could be for that...
