    Best way to drain fuel tank

    I want to test the auto my D2 parts car, which has has no fuel tank, or pump. There are a few other things to deal with as well, such as XYZ switch and turbo. The latter two are no issue, I'll just pull them off my car, but the only fuel tank I have is in my D2, and it has maybe 60 litres in it, too heavy to lift. What do you guys reckon to be the best way to drain it? I thought the pump could do it, if I connected up to the right lines.

    Any ideas?

    If it’s a diesel, remove fuel pump from tank and siphon the diesel out. Easy to ensure your hose is in the diesel, and to see when it’s empty.

    I used a syphon hose with twenty litre drums after I removed the fuel pump.
    If you do it with the FP removed , make sure you place the rubber grommet ON THE TANK LIP not where it is as you pull it out . ( stuck to the top of pump)

    If you do it with the FP removed , make sure you place the rubber grommet ON THE TANK LIP not where it is as you pull it out . ( stuck to the top of pump) when you replace the pump.

    I have a cheap spare Facet style electric pump between two 2 metre lengths of fuel hose I use to drain fuel tanks. The inlet side has a large filter on it so that transferring fuel cleans it of lumps too. The pump self primes, saves a mouthful of smelly stuff.
