Disco 2 sideview mirrors too small

Hey team, Just wondering if anyone knows of larger mirrors that will fit the disco 2 (pre facelift). Note: NOT the extended caravan ones for towing. I just find the mirrors a bit small after my previous car (modern dual cab ute) which had a much higher profile and maybe slightly wider.

    thanks

D1 and D2 same design .. same annoyances!

I had the same feeling coming from my previous vehicle. For me the height(or lack of in the Disco's mirrors) is the major problem.

I've learned to live with it now.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

They have a few quirks, most forgivable, some loveable

I was hoping there might be similarities with the mounting part of the mirror with other car companies. Definitely hard to find any after market ones on google

I eventually gave up and fitted the small double convex mirrors as sold by some of the auto firms on top of the mirror frames. I did put a post and pic on here maybe 12 months ago, but now having difficulty finding it - will have to stop posting so often.

Found the mirror pics. PM me with an email address and I'll forward the DIN docs I have - they are too big for a PM itself

When I was looking for a D2 the one thing I did notice in For Sale photo's was the LHR corner and rear bumper damage on a lot of cars so i suspected the mirrors where average, I am use too them now and reverse into park spots or pick a drive thru park to cut the risk of a dent down.
When i bought my D2 i had too replace the LH lens and for a month it was hopeless until i got rough with it and pushed it into a better position, it's all good now.
I have driven trucks all my life and you soon learn "if in doubt get out and have a look", I have back over a few things like a Courier van but they are "fair game" the way they park in the yard.

I was towing my boat in my old D1 and had a cop car following me for a few kms with lights going ( no Siren)
Eventually I pulled up and the young cop was abusing me for not pulling over.
He was following me in my blind spot, virtually sitting right on my propeller. I said to him I did not see him as he was in my blind spot. To that he replied you better get bigger mirrors. I couldn't see how bigger mirrors would help, maybe a rear camera would be a better option for propeller huggers

I didn't get booked though and I had done nothing wrong.
