D2a V8 Ace Pump End Float

    Hi,
Just replaced the fan belt on my D2 and checked all the pulleys. All smooth and practically no detectable end float apart from the Ace pump. It turns smoothly with slight resistance but has about 2-3 mm float???? Is this normal? Also can the bearings be changed, replaced, rebuilt or is it a new pump?

    Rgds

Not heard anything about rebuilding ACE pumps,,, apart from the lines the system is pretty reliable,,
if its not making any noise and rolls fine------- I'd just bolt it all back on,,,

It's a radial 6 piston pump and you can feel when the cam lobe reaches each piston, as long as you ca see serious activity in the tank with engine running the pumps is OK
