my method was 'brute force'.
That required me to turn it off(unplug it) and on again multiple times till it communicated successfully.

Bonnet is up because he wanted to degrease the engine, we know the fuel regulator needs replacing, he has done it on our Defender before though the Disco has much less room in that area [bigsad]

I have yet to experience the joys of that repair, but I've had to replace the fuel hose to the fuel pressure reg and the fuel cooler O rings and that was yukky enough.
