Question D2a pocketed headlights - anyone converted the high beam to LED globes?

Anyone converted the H7 high beam in the D2a pocketed headlights to LED?

Was looking at the JW Speaker Model 3600 LED Bulb Kit 6200k < LED Headlight Bulb Conversion Kit > as the brand seems to have developed a good reputation and that model has the integrated LED Driver Unit (as opposed to eternal) so one less thing to deal with. Sadly there website doesn't provide any dimensions to be able to measure up if there is enough clearance for them and their heatsink.

Yes,I used those exact lights in the high beams of my d2a, they were in there for a couple of weeks before I changed back to the Plus 120 halogen bulbs.

No penetration from the led, colour was a bit off putting, and no more real usable light compared to the Plus bulbs.

I was actually that disappointed in the jws I gave them away.

Fyi, my current lighting arrangement is; 4300k morimoto D2r bulbs and 35w ballasts (h7 to d2 adaptors) in the low beams.

And the aforementioned Plus 120 halogen in the high beam.

There was also insufficient room for the heat sink on the jws, the high beam receptacle and access hole are offset to one another, not concentric. Do u had to remove the heatsink, fit the bulbs, then squeeze the heatsink back on, and then the protruded too far out the back so i had to make some cover extenders from some pvc pipe and seal it all up with aluminum tape. Functional, but not pretty.

I first put the 120+ Narva globes in the D2a lights then I swapped them out fot a set of LED globes a couple of years ago.
Personally I prefer the LED globes to the 120+ units, Each to their own.
I also run 2x 9inch LED spots and an LED lightbar and even with my tired old eyes I can see everything at night up to 500m away.

I Always dip my lights very early in the peace because I know just how bright they are to avoid blinding other road users, It is a shame that so many other road users don't show me the same curtsey.

I've got these and they work great in the low beams. Haven't tried the high beam. They fit inside the factory D2a light assembly and you can put the cover back on, the external part fits behind the reflector inside the assembly. Didn't know Supercheap had started selling them though. I know a bloke who has them in the high beam of an 04 Hilux and has no issues with them.
