I found the ram air effect at 80Kmh was about 1 inch of water ie bugger all.
I didn't check the effect of reversing the head , but I think it would also be negligible except keep out more water in heavy rain.
I guess it would be greater if you put a head on with more cross sectional area, but probably not worth it.

Strangy assured me it'll double/triple the life of the air cleaner.
My thoughts are a 4" stainless pipe bent/fabricated up (and powder coated satin black) straight down the pillar and into the guard, and just fabricate a nice big plenum inside the guard.
I really don't like the look of that duct running along the guard.
It'd be rearward facing, just like all the Japanese utes running around here have.
It's really low on my list of priorities though.

Im not sure 4 inch would fit. I think mine is 3 or 3.5 and only just fit.
I haven't even measured it up yet, too many other things to do and real work keeps intruding but I'd fabricate a box or oval plenum inside the guard, the pipe down the pillar would just feed it.Quote:

My guard is pushing up hard against the pipe behind it.
I might rip off my guard today and take a pic of how i ended up directing it.
By memory i had to make a few different bends to get it to fit nicely.

I only peeled the guard back to show it but you can see the mud covered pipe above the rib. That rib was a bit of a pain.
Sorry for poor pic. Car filthy and have other work to do so could not be bothered taking guard off completely and cleaning it.
Also i ran to the front and into the airbox via the normal opening because i have a gas converter fitted behind the airbox or i would have gone in through the inner guard a lot earlier.
Just for volume as it looks like it'd be a PITA to get a decent sized tube through there.Quote:
