    TD5 seized I think ?

Hi guys ... my misses was driving home a few days ago and our 2002 TD5 just stopped . Tried to re start and near no cranking was possible , thought the battery had died or starter was shot ... but no , both came up as ok .. I put a new starter in anyway , but New Starter seems to be taking a beating when I try to start her , even smelt a bit warm each time I tried ... wont turn over much at all ...

We towed her home and tried to turn the engine over with a short wrench and found I could only move it just a little but not far at all .. Wondering if we have seized it ?

Question ? as I have never tried to hand crank a TD5 , can they be turned over by hand with a wrench ? ..

She is in great condition , nice and clean and well serviced , at least I thought she was :- (

cheers Steve , any help appreciated ...

Take off the drive belt and try to turn it over this will prove the idller theory
It probably a cheap bearing replacement

I bought a Freebie a couple of years ago with suspected seized engine
Seized Ac compressor was the problem after a bit of investigation once home

Yep, this stuck me up in the Flinders last year.
I thought a polling starter motor, Chris from Hawker thought I'd hydrauliced the engine (the creeks were up and he'd had an Isuzu the day before that had a lung full of water)
Luckily it was the idler pulley bearing seized, it was fixed in a couple of hours.

    Idler pulley
    Happened to me as well.
I freaked and started looking for 2nd hand motors while waiting for the tow truck.
In the end a $50 job and 1/2 hour
