i got this one mainly for the extra 20 listen only channels which the guys that i bought it from, kindly programmed all of the police channels into. not only makes for great entertainment, but keeps you informed of trouble spots to stay away from.
do you know what frequencies are still operating......?
most of them have gone digital.....i dont get to hear about the shootings
at bankstown anymore......</span>

I have a Uniden GPS105 UHF/GPS combo, radio is excellent, GPS is your basic compass style unit, with trip/distance average calculator/speed indicater and redlight/speed camera/blackspot detectors, also has waypoint marking ability.
Overall it's a very good unit, only bad points is you can't turn off the camera warnings only the sound, and it's hard sometimes to read the small writing on the screen.

Cheers Baz.

I have a Uniden UH-100 (Like an 88 but with a couple of more useless features) and an old Electrophone TX-550 AM with PA system, useful for verbally abusing people a few blocks away without winding your windows down.
I also have 2 Uniden Pro 510XL AM Radios that im not using.
on the way across town last night, i could only pick up campbelltown, all the rest have gone digital. i could hear them transmitting but it was just white noise.

I've got the GME Tx4400 in my ute and Tx3200s in the work vehicles. The 4400 has been fine but I have had to remove and refit all the 3200 speakers with a bit of vibration reducing silastic. Without this the 3200 speakers vibrates when the volume is turned up to an acceptable level.
I am thinking of getting the Icom IC400pro next time though. Just for something different.
I got the 4400 originally because I like big screens and lots of features. Although I rarely used any of the features. Although I do use the adjustable squelch a lot.
I've also got 3 cheapy Uniden handhelds for walking ahead of vehicles, recovery, snowboarding etc
