Keeping rear of d2 disco cool

Im running an engel fridge in the rear section of the discovery, Whilst fridge runs fine i wiould like to drop internal temp of vehcile when parked up. Im aware that i can leave the windows down slightly and lock with key to stop the Alarm going off Unfourtunatley Townsville is the Car theft and break in captal at the moment. Im toying with putting some kind of roof vent in (Not keen on this ) and or modify safari windows with some sort of vent. Anyone have any ideas.?????

Are the windows tinted, i would consider a very dark tint or even blacked out.
You could put more vents internally that only go thru the shell and not the outer alloy skin.

Back windows at this time have silver insulation which helps . It appears to be just the stale air. may have to macygiver a exhaust type fan from roof area that vents out under guards.

You can get a solar powered fan that hook on the window the thieves can't force the window so safe as if window was up.

I was going to say this also. I bought window weather strips (plastic thingos at the top of ur windows). Now I just leave all 4 windows down a bit. They are tinted as well as the windows so it’s quite hard to see if the windows are up or down. I’ve found them quite effective at reducing internal heat

I have made a Perspex filler for the LH rear window with 3 computer fans fitted in it.
The Perspex completely fills the gap in the rear window when it is down a bit.
    .
If you put the RH window down a little bit , you get cross ventilation.

I've seen a few products similar to the one I've pictured, nothing local on offer however on a weekend trip to the shops a few months ago, I did spot something similar on another disco 2 in Perth (zoom into the disco with plastic trim. Windows are down however there were security grille bars in the open window spaces)

OK the Perspex is cut to the shape of the window glass. It has to be exact so that it slots in one end then pulls out to engage the other end.
I added window track to the bottom inside suitably sized alloy edge section so that it slots over the window glass.
Once in place you raise the window so that the top sits in the top channel of the door. I have not done so in the picture as it would have required running around the car as I had the ign on accessory..

    Regards Philip A
