Leak from return hose at header tank.

My Experience with aftermarket tanks and I stress REGARDLESS OF BRAND have not been a good experience. So for the last couple of years we have not stocked them. We had one day old tanks start to leak at the seams, sent out replacements under warranty to have the same happen, had them leak from the barb to tank . Recently after not selling them for a couple of years tried another brand . 1 month after fitment the bottom of the tank started to craze and leak, replaced it under warranty and the same happened with the replacement tank. So we will not stock aftermarket tanks any more. Not fair to the customer and I don't need the hassel. Complaints to suppliers gets the response of what of they expect at the cheap price.
Not fun when coolant pours out and you cook an engine. So suggest only use Genuine ( although expensive.) It seems to be a numbers game these days, hopefully some perform, but bad when yours fail.

I have a brand new genuine for sale if interested (also the cap)

I have a theory on all these bottle blowing up and it's pretty simple.

If it's a V8 then exhaust gases are entering the system. Could be the head gasket or could be a liner issue.

For me it was the liner. I went trough 3 or more bottle in roughly a year and it made no difference if aftermarket or genuine.

There is a noticeable difference between the two by about 100 grams of plastic. They all failed in similar locations. No failures along the welded seams.

Usually regardless of the engine problems the expansion tank should "Vent" when the pressure becomes too much, If the tank fails then there is something amiss with the tank or the cap.

That's what you would think and it seems logical but not my experience. Replaced many, same result.

The car has since been recycled. Poor quality engine in my case and I think similar will or has been been experienced throughout the world.
