Hi all,

Tuesday night my steering lock finally gave up.
Key just would not turn. It has been playing up for a while now. I had always been able to get it to start with the key at the right angle and a few loving words whispered gently toward the steering column. I had already spoken to JC about a booking next week to get it checked over.

After searching this forum I tried using inox and a gentle tap with a few different tools and no luck.

More tools would be required. Thankfully I now have a D2a that can be started with the use of a screwdriver until next week. A huge thank you to the member that suggested the use of a hammer and punch to turn the steering lock bolts. Not sure I would've been able to do it without that tip.

Now I just need to avoid the cops whilst looking this dodgy 😂

Huge thanks,

Alex.
