Had a chance for some more exploration today. After many starts with voltmeter on battery terminals I can say it didn’t drop below 10.5V once. Lowest was about 10.9. Most were in lower to mid 11v.

Have also replaced the inertia switch and cleaned the ground contacts in front of the engine bay fusebox. Not had any recurrence of the hazard lights or non-start since. I’ll track down more ground contacts soon and clean them too.

In case anyone stumbles on this thread down the track ... no signs of the issue have cropped up since I cleaned and reseated the ground points in front of the main fuse box, replaced the battery and replaced the inertia switch. I do have the company of the Steve Martins again but I’ll get around to sorting him out soon now. Thanks for all the tips guys.

Mods can you move this out of the emergency and SOS section and into the TD5 disco technical discussion section or similar?

I suspect now something to do with ABS and it didn’t bring up errors when driving to avoid causing issues but does stop restarting the car. I did had 3 amigos a few times before we went away a month ago - haven’t checked again on Nanocom for fault list yet. Will do later today.

    Anyone seen this before?
Test battery properly, i.e. what voltage remains when starting, need a mate to help, if under 10. something then battery is stuffed even though you get 12. something on multimeter prior to starting. Computer reads the voltage drop and goes nuts flashing all sorts.
